As part of my MSc project, I need lots of people to do the following experiment for me
It is a 3 minute video followed by a few questions. Shouldnt take more than 15 minutes or so.
Many thanks in advance

A well argued response. Sorry about revealing all too much!
Remember that results are averaged out across a control group. That is the beauty of the ANOVA, or analysis of variance, it detects to see whether the variance of results between the two groups differ significantly. If they do, then the p value is set a 0.05, saying that the chance of achieving these results again, and my null hypothesis (being that the video does not affect judgements) is true is 5%, an industry standard for alpha values. Science is all about probabilities of the same things happening again due to chance, and then due to your manipulations.
Yes even if you have seen the video before, and prepared for what is coming, it still often does not change the gut reaction of your judgements.
And I am afraid I have to edit your comment, as it reveals part of the experiment that participants should not be aware before doing it!

P.S. Emotions elicited from the video only lasts for a very short time, hence the reason for immediate polling. I also had a manipulation check for emotions, so if that is not significant, i.e. not showing the emotions I want, then I can say that the video was not successful. However it has been used in several pieces of research previously, all with successful results. We shall see.
Okay, well I reloaded it and it resumed from where it left off. Have to say if you have seen the film before, your prepared for what comes. Additionally surely different people have different reactions. So how can you compare my views, to those of a control group? Why didnt you show the video a week later to the control group and ask them the same questions to see any difference? ….. Hmm tell me that Professor!?
It took me a long time to download the whole thing. After finally watching it, I try your survey, for my internet connection to fail and lose the whole thing…..
